Do I need to stay with my child? That's completely up to you. The course works better as a drop off as children can sometimes get distracted by having their parents/guardians in the room. Most parents stay until the child is settled and then leave. However, some parents have chosen to stay for the duration of the first session or for the entire week. Our tutors are flexible and happy to work with whatever you feel is best for your child.
What should my child wear? The course is very practical with lots of arts & crafts, so we recommend that children wear loose comfortable clothing that you're happy for them to get a little messy in!
Do they need a packed lunch? Yes, there's a 15 minute break in the session so we request that children are provided with a drink and a snack. Due to allergy restrictions we request that NO NUTS are included.
How old are the children who attend? This varies from course to course. Although our courses are suitable for children up to 8 years old, most children who attend are aged 2 - 5 years old. We encourage parents of children aged 6 - 8 years old to take advantage of our buddy discount and invite friends along too - that way your child is guaranteed to have children of the same age attending.
Will different aged children be in the same class? Yes. The children will all remain in the same room however activities will be differentiated in terms of age with older children given additional tasks that offer more of a challenge.
How many staff members will be present? We use a ratio of 1:6 - 1 adult for every 6 children. Storytelling Adventures has a dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants who work on our courses.
Do you have a Safeguarding Policy? Yes. All our teachers and assistants have current DBS checks (formerly CRB). You can view our safeguarding policy here.
Where do your courses take place? Though we book venues in advance, venue availability can change at the last minute and parents sometimes decide to drop in on the day of the course! So to avoid them turning up to the wrong location we only send venue details in confirmation emails or when requested. We have several venues we use regularly for our courses:
- Twickenham Methodist Church Hall, Queens Road, Twickenham TW1 4EN - Twickenham Library, Garfield Road, Twickenham TW1 3JT - Energie Fitness, 3 Reading Lane, London E8 1GQ
However, we are always looking for new locations. If there's a demand in your area, we'll be happy to pay you a visit! Click here to find out how to bring Storytelling Adventures to your area!
How do I book? Download an application form from our website and return to us with full payment. The form also includes payment details. Or book online

What if I need to cancel? If you cancel your booking in advance of the course start date there are two options available for you to choose from:
1. Course Credit The fees paid will be kept as credit to be used on any future course.
